TOP SELECTED WORK

1. Empowering Confident Investing with Trusted, Data-Driven Trading Recommendations in 2024

I led the end-to-end design and product experience at StockGro, building the platform from the ground up with a lean team of 2 designers and 2 product managers. Partnering closely with the founder and leadership team, I aligned business goals with user needs to deliver a high-impact, user-centric fintech product.

We approached the redesign with clear design principles: make financial data scannable, interactions intuitive, and the learning curve minimal. I introduced a modular design system for consistency and speed, crafted information hierarchies to highlight key actions, and shaped a visual language that felt youthful, credible, and social.

Initial Design Directions: Shaping Homepage, Social Features & Gamified Experience

Designing a Data-Driven Market Experience from the Ground Up: We transformed complex financial data into a clear, actionable, and visually intuitive experience tailored for young investors. By conducting user research, we identified what information truly mattered cutting through noise to focus on insights that drive confident trading decisions.

From mood indicators and sector performance to candlestick patterns and high-upside opportunities, we designed a daily market dashboard that’s not just informative but decisively usable. Every element from the visual hierarchy to micro-interactions was crafted to help users scan, understand, and act fast in a dynamic trading environment.

Designing for Confidence in Every Trade: We crafted a unified stock insights experience that turns complex financial data into clear, actionable signals. From stock scores and technical trends to price momentum and forecasts, every element was designed to guide users toward faster, smarter decisions.

We introduced visual metaphors (gauges, color scales, momentum sliders) and structured layouts to simplify decision-making. Every screen was crafted to reduce cognitive load, highlight signals over noise, and support informed trading at a glance.

Built to Simplify Finance: Designed a clean, modular system that turns complex data into easy, actionable insights.

2. Designed a HUD (heads-up-display) to  solve distraction-free driving in 2016.

As Head of Design, I led the design and development of a heads-up display (HUD) system aimed at reducing distracted driving and enhancing road safety. By projecting critical information onto the windshield, the system enabled drivers to stay focused while accessing vital data in real-time. I collaborated closely with engineering teams to create Version 1 of the device and designed an intuitive mobile and web dashboard for vehicle health monitoring.

Key achievements include designing the HUD software from the ground up, creating a hands-free interface to minimize distraction, and establishing design principles focused on safety and usability. I also provided UX leadership across engineering and marketing teams, delivering a globally scalable system now used by thousands of vehicles, setting new standards for user-centric, distraction-free driving solutions.

3. Driving 0‑to‑1 Product and Design Strategy for SPH News Tablet
From ground-up design to user impact—making news more relevant, accessible, and habit-forming.

SPH Media → 2020 to 2024 → Singapore

We launched the SPH News Tablet in partnership with Samsung delivering multiple newspaper PDFs via a pre-loaded subscription tablet. I led the strategy to align user needs and business goals through stakeholder interviews and co-creation workshops. We prioritized high-impact initiatives with cross-functional teams, enhancing content delivery and user engagement. The roadmap focused on habit-forming features, attracting Millennials and Gen Z, and building a strong content ecosystem. With minimal branding, we let SPH’s trusted publications shine driving stronger recall and long-term growth.

The SPH News Tablet features a clean, intuitive design that brings together newspapers, games, videos, and magazines in one cohesive experience. Each screen is purposefully crafted news is presented in a clear, distraction-free layout, while vibrant visuals and interactive elements draw younger users into games and educational content. The magazine section showcases bold covers and curated picks, creating an inviting, easy-to-browse experience.

Future of NewsTablet Workshop – Leading Cross-Functional Teams Toward Aligned Strategy and Execution
Spearheaded a strategic design workshop uniting cross-functional leaders from engineering, legal, business, marketing, product, and strategy. Facilitated structured collaboration to align diverse perspectives, synthesize complex inputs, and drive clarity on vision and next steps. The outcomes informed product direction and fostered team alignment, ownership, and momentum across functions.

4. A News App Built for Singapore’s Tamil Community: Engineered to engage modern audiences, safeguard Tamil heritage, and ignite genuine community action.

SPH Media → 2020 to 2024 → Singapore

I spearheaded the redesign of the Tamil Murasu platform to better engage Millennials and Gen Z—two critical segments for the brand’s future growth. We identified early that the product wasn’t resonating with younger users, so I drove a collaborative process across product, editorial, and tech teams to rethink how Tamil news and culture could be delivered in more modern, relevant ways. Through workshops and user research, we crafted three distinct design concepts—TM Juice for quick news, TM Kopi Kakis for social storytelling, and TM Masala for deeper cultural immersion.

My role was to define the design vision, lead the team, and align business goals with user needs. My team introduced a fresh visual direction that combined Tamil Murasu's heritage with modern, vibrant elements to appeal to younger audiences. We also focused on accessible typography and simplified layouts to enhance usability. This work transformed the app from a traditional news platform into a culturally relevant, user-friendly experience boosting engagement, clarifying brand positioning, and supporting long-term digital growth.

An onboarding experience that blends visual appeal with clarity—carefully designed to inform, engage, and guide users seamlessly through their first interaction.
